Development of human resources who have a genuine sense of humanity.high progessonal caliber, and versatile literacy
Intensive education system with teacher-students interactions
Practice-based information processing skill learning
In order to develop global communication skills indispensable to meet the rapid progress in the age of the global village, the University delivers English language education with much teacher-student interactions and information processing education based on practice.
Latest Remote Learning System via Hyogo Information Highway
The six campuses located throughout the prefecture are linked to each other through the Hyogo Information Highway network, enabling students to take lectures offered by Schools on other campuses on their own campus.
Promotion of Original and Pioneering researches
Global COE(Centers Of Excellence) Program
"Picobiology : Life science at the atomic level" (selected in 2007)
We are aiming to construct the education and research center for gPicobiologyh, which is defined as an aim to understand the mechanism of all physiological processes by performing the picometer (10-12 m) level structural analyses, using the world largest two research systems on structural biology (the highest-performance synchrotoron radiation system in SPring-8 and the ultrahigh-performance vibrational spectroscopic systems in University of Hyogo).
Basic Research Programs(Exploratory Research for Advanced Technology Program)
"Maenaka Human-Sensing Fusion Project" (selected in 2007)
At the April of 2008, started Maenaka Human-Sensing Fusion Project which is led by Kazusuke Maenaka, a professor of University of Hyogo and is financially supported by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). They plan to develop an adhesive plaster-like human activity monitoring device for measuring human activity, vital and environmental quantity as well as peripherals like power generator, signal processor and RF circuits integrated into a small chip. In order to achieve these targets, they study many kinds of low power consumption sensors for acceleration, pulse, electrocardiography, blood pressure, sweat, temperature and so on.

Contribution to the Development of Community and International Society
Contribution to the Development of Community and International Society
Prompted by the recognition that the University of Hyogo is supported by the residents of the prefecture, the University aims to become a university open to the world that develops together with the community and has built university-wide management systems that facilitate the implementation of social contribution programs. By promoting lifelong learning, business-academia collaboration, and international exchange programs through the university-wide management systems, the University actively contributes to both the local and international communities.
Promotion of International Exchange
The University strives to enhance the universality of long-accumulated intellectual property by sharing it with overseas universities. It also actively promotes academic exchange with these overseas universities by promptly communicating research achievements in pioneering fields. Specific programs include joint research, faculty exchange programs designed for training and information exchange, mutual hosting of symposia, and exchange of publications and research papers.
