The University of Hyogo is a multi-discipline university inaugurated in April
2004 by integrating three prefectural universities, namely, Kobe University of
Commerce, Himeji Institute of Technology, and the College of Nursing Art and
Science, Hyogo, each crowned with its own respectful history and tradition, and
by adding new institutions, such as the Graduate School of Applied Informatics.
The University currently furnishes six schools, eight graduate schools, four
research institutes, and other centers and research facilities.
The University of Hyogo devotes every effort to the creation of new knowledge
through leveraging the synergy of the integration and strength of the resulting
multi-discipline university, conducting education and research with a particular
focus on interdisciplinary pursuit, and promoting unique, pioneering research.
At the same time, the University strives to foster human resources that possess
a genuine sense of humanity, high professional caliber, and broad literacy that
enable them to meet every challenge of new era.
To this end, the schools, graduate schools, and research institutes work in close
collaboration for program integration, while the six campuses provide a remote
learning system enabled by the latest information and telecommunications technologies
to facilitate students to take any classes offered on the six campuses. The University
also offers varied support programs to promote students' volunteer activities,
including living, health, further education, and career counseling services.
In addition, through activities at the Center for Corporate Relations, Center
for Life-Long Learning, and Center for International Relations, the University
strives to contribute to industries and society at large, such as the provision
of research achievements to industries and that of a life-long learning course
to businesspersons and the general public. As a university of great service to
society, the University of Hyogo is fully committed to contributing to the development
of the community, the prosperity of the country, and ultimately to the welfare
of the world and mankind. |
