The University of Hyogo is one of Japan’s leading public universities.
It has 6 undergraduate faculties, 14 graduate schools, 4 affiliated
research institutes,and affiliated junior and senior high schools.
The university has produced many talented graduates in economics,
medicine,industry, and healthcare.
They have built successful careers in academia
and in the business world.
Starting in 2019 the University of Hyogo offers a new program,
Global Business Course. The course is taught entirely in English,
this program aims to attract students from around the world
and develop future business leaders.
Campus
Kobe Campus for Commerce is located in Gakuentoshi, the educational district of Kobe.
It is home to Global Business Course as well as School of Economics and Management.
It is a calm, idyllic setting for studying with easy access to central Kobe.

About Kobe

Kobe is the capital city of Hyogo Prefecture,
and the 7th largestcity in Japan.
It is located on the center of Honshu Island, the largest of
Japan’s four main islands.
Kobe has a population of around 1.5 million, and is part
of the Keihanshin Metropolitan Area,
which includes nearby Kyoto and Osaka.
The earliest records of Kobe date back over 1,800 years,
and describe
Ikuta Jinja, one of Japan’s oldest Shinto Shrines.
The city, as we know it was founded in 1889,
is one of the first Japanese cities to open for trade
with the West and remains a cosmopolitan city that is
home to global companies such as ASICS,
Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and Kobe Steel.
Additionally, there are over 100 international corporations that have their Asian headquarters in Kobe such as Eli Lily, Procter & Gamble, Nestlé. Kobe has a number of wonderful tourist attractions, including Mt. Rokko, Chinatown, and Arima Hot Springs. It is conveniently located for international accessibility, and its airports and bullet train station to make it easy to explore Japan.

Application

Eligibility
Individuals who have completed a 12-year school curriculum
in their home country,
or who have an equivalent education as
specified by the Ministry of Education of Japan,
are welcome to apply.
Screening Process
Students are selected for admission based on their written
application materials, and interviews.
The interviews will be conducted in English.
In case holding interview locally is impossible,
screening via internet will be conducted.(Zoom etc)
Required Documents
1)Application Form and Short Essay
2)Certificate of academic achievements,
or transcript of high school results
(i.e. Transcript of IB, or GCE Certificate)
3)Certificate of English Proficiency
(TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS, or other recognized English
proficiency test.)
4)Letters of recommendation written by a teacher or an academic advisor
5)Supplemental Materials if necessary

Admission Capacities
30 international students (Total 80 students including 50 students residing in Japan)
International Dormitory
The University of Hyogo opend a new international dormitory in September 2019 on Kobe Campus for Commerce.
This dormitory accommodates 150 international and Japanese students in a community setting that facilitates multicultural cooperation and learning.
The ground floor has Center for Global Engagement,
and staff are available to answer your questions about life in Japan.
International students of GBC is required to stay in the dormitory for their first year.
