I am delighted to be a part of the GLEP family as a student assistant. It is my first time to help to organize an event with friends from different countries, so it is a new challenge that made me grow as a person. I am sure this experience would help me in my future career and endeavors.
I can say the day of the event was one of the happiest days I have had in Japan. It was really fun to get to know students from different faculties and I gained new friends. Moreover, there were also students from Australia who joined the event, so it made the environment more diverse. I had so much fun exchanging cultures and experiencing Japanese culture, such as making origami, doing calligraphy, and eating sushi, some of which I have never tried before.
I was so happy the event that my friends and I organized turned out so well, and it made a big smile on my face knowing that everybody really enjoyed it. Some of the friends I made at the event and I still remain good friends now. I hope I can help to organize upcoming events conducted by the Center for Global Engagement in the future.

I think that the GLEP event is a great opportunity for us participants from different countries to have cultural exchanges and explore Japanese culture. Everyone had done their best to contribute to the event.
In the cooking part, we experienced the sushi roll and Japanese tea. It was a very special experience to try Japanese cuisine served with Japanese courtesy. The paper art part was so much fun. After learning a few models, I could not stop imagining the possibilities of a paper. The kanji writing part was all about being calm and finding your own style of writing. It really helps us understand the concept of Japanese art.
After the events, we were able to know each other more and exchange our perspective. What is most important is the friendship we made during this event.
To make a summary, everyone has learned not only during the event. We all learned from the preparation for the event and after the event. We are sure that all these experiences will help us achieve a better goal in the future. It was such a wonderful experience, thank you for having us.

Every member in my cooking group was active during the project. Everyone was in enthusiast during the project, which made the work easy. We exchanged our point of view as Japanese and International student, and we reached our conclusion to make the best cooking workshop experience that students can enjoy. During the day, it’s been tough for us because we need to do our best, but it turned out to be more beyond our expectation. Everyone in my group really enjoyed assisting this event, and I hope there will be more event like this in the future, which can unite every student to work together and achieve one certain goal together.
I really love this event from the beginning until the end. Everyone takes it as a fun event, so I don’t really feel like an event but a gathering with friends. I am really happy to get to know a lot of people from Australian students until GLEP students. Even now I still have a sense of euphoria about it because it was fun. I enjoy every part of the opening, band performance, quiz, origami, calligraphy, cooking, and closing! Definitely a memory that I won’t forget because everyone did their best for this event, and they took it for fun! If it’s possible I would like to attend this kind of event or become the student assistant in the future.

As an assistant student, I am impressed with myself and my friends. My favorite part is the process of arranging. Preparing for this event with people from different cultures and nations is not easy. However, it was a wonderful and challenging moment for me. I am so grateful that my Japanese friends who do not belong to GBC tried to speak English with me, and they are also happy that I also attempted to use Japanese with them!
During the preparation period, we had to conduct the meeting in person and online because some assistants were on other campuses. Many issues, such as internet connection and technical problems, occurred, but we handled them well. On the day of the party, I was so concerned about it, but it turned out that many people enjoyed it! I was delighted and willing to have this kind of event again.
I loved the calligraphy session the most because all my Japanese friends in the group helped teach us how to write our names in Kanji. They were so pleasant and generous.
Another favorite moment of mine was when I delivered the opening speech, in which I spoke in English, Japanese, and Thai. Lastly, I want to thank everyone who worked so hard on this project, and I appreciate that I was the leader of the GBC side in this event.
Thank you for choosing me and working with me!
