SDGs are international goals that are the successors of the Minimum Development Goals (MDGs), which were established in 2001. These international goals, which aim to achieve a more sustainable world by the year 2030, were described in “The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, which was adopted by a United Nations summit in September 2015.
They consist of 17 goals and 169 targets for achieving a sustainable world, and pledge to “leave no one behind”.
