Doctoral Program
Standard study period: 3 years Capacity for admission: 10 students Degree: Ph.D. (Applied Informatics)
This Doctoral Program was established in 2006, and was designed to deepen expertise of educational research attained by students in the Master's Program, and produce practical educational research that helps improving quality of our social environment. The program is intended to cultivate new interdisciplinary research fields associated with application of information science and technologies to the society, and to contribute as much as possible for the progress of regional society with the study outcome generated therefrom. Based on multi-level knowledge combining professional skills concerning policy management, health care and high confidence information, and informatics technologies applied to these fields, our focus is to produce practical researchers, engineers, and highly-advanced professionals who are able to independently engage in interdisciplinary research and development and technological development concerning the application of information science and technologies to the society.
Classes and completion requirements
Classes and completion requirements are set out as follows: Completion requirements for the Doctoral Program for all three courses include earning of credits for each required class, and 10 or more credits in total upon completion. Students who meet these criteria and whose doctoral thesis is accepted are deemed successfully completed the Doctoral Program, and granted a Ph.D. in applied informatics.
